Sources & assumptions

  1. Assumptions: 78 eligible office and telehealth visits per week, based on the AAFP’s 2023 family-physician survey; an assumed 5 minutes saved per visit; and an illustrative 3.5 hours of separate weekly inbox savings. Uses a four-week month. The model assumes no overlapping tasks or extra review time; actual savings depend on workload, eligibility and workflow. The combined estimate has not been validated in a Pajama time study.
  2. Weekly, per-provider illustration. Chart prep uses the AAFP benchmark of 78 office and telehealth visits per week, assuming each eligible visit receives a prep. Lab and renewal estimates normalize one deployment’s nine-day report to seven calendar days; see note 3. These are estimates, not measured weekly averages or guaranteed volumes.
  3. Source: Inbox Impact Summary from a Florida-based practice with 60 clinics. The report sampled 9 providers over 9 calendar days, not all 60 clinics. It reported 48% lower inbox volume, 785 lab results auto-handled and 469 renewals processed. Weekly volumes are estimated, normalized from this report: each total ÷ 9 providers ÷ 9 days × 7 days, rounded. Processing does not mean every renewal bypassed clinician review. Vendor-reported results; methodology and baseline inbox counts were not supplied. The report does not measure hours saved. Results vary. These operational counts are separate evidence and are not added to the time-savings estimate.
  4. Activity totals supplied by the Pajama team, as of October 1, 2026. The 5-minute chart-prep and 25-second inbox assumptions are illustrative net-savings inputs, not measured Pajama outcomes. A large PCP inbox study found about 20 seconds per message view, not per completed task or time saved; it does not validate these assumptions. The model assumes distinct, eligible tasks and no overlap between chart prep and inbox work. Remaining clinician review and corrections may reduce savings. Activity counts are processed items, not proof of full automation. These are year-to-date totals, not live activity counts. Calculation: 667,000 chart preps × 5 minutes ÷ 60 = 55,583 hours. (785,000 lab results + 948,000 prescription renewals) × 25 seconds ÷ 3,600 = 12,035 hours. Combined = 67,618 hours, rounded to 67,600.
